Barsotti Building
The goal of working with historic structures is to retain the original beauty but give the interior new life and function for todays living and work environments. Some of the challenges are dealing with safety code issues; integrating modern technology into existing infrastructure; finding authentic materials and/or researching reproductions; making good budgetary decisions; and working with contractors who are willing to work within the confines of the structure and take the same pride as I do in a preserving our history.

Chippewa Dialysis Center
The clinic is housed in a renovated synagogue. The main treatment area features cloud-like formations and colorful banners suspended from the high ceilings. The large windows provide natural light and an airy space, taking away the boredom of the frequent dialysis treatments.

Doctor's Waiting Room
This surgeon's waiting room was rejuvenated by using a refreshing palette of colors and patterns while maintaining a traditional feeling of comfort for the patients. The renovation included new wallcovering, carpet and updated lighting.

Escape Spa
This space was designed to be uplifting, warm and inviting with a modern zen feeling. Nancy designed the custom carpet to emulate waves of water on a sandy beach. Wicker furnishiings, floral and leaf patterns in upholstery and accessories also give the feeling of island getaway.

Fox Chapel Residence
The challenge was to use the clients' existing furniture to make a comfortable and beautiful setting to blend the tastes of both wife and husband. The living room's casual elegance was achieved by covering the walls and furniture with subtle tone-on-tone patterns, allowing the clients' collection of artwork and family heirlooms to shine. The Country toile was used in abundance in a comfortable and inviting guest room and was the perfect compliment for the warm wood tones of the early American furnishings.

North Hills Residence
This home was designed to serve a variety of clients' needs - a gathering place for family and friends as well as the site of large parties for business events. While opulent, it has cozy spaces for the family. The clients' art and accessory collections are featured in almost every room and hallway in the home.

NYC Kitchen
There were many requirements for this 35 square foot space. Every half-inch was important in maximizing the function of this very small kitchen. The goal was to provide workspace for a serious cook; storage for cookware and utensils, dishes and barware; food storage; and to create an elegant entertaining space with its close proximity to the living area. Appliances were chosen on the basis of their compactness, multi-function capabilities and appearance. Storage areas were designed to allow easy access but are hidden behind custom-designed glass and macasar ebony wood cabinets. Glass tile, granite and mutiple levels of lighting compliment the Art Deco design of the space.

Pediatric Emergency Room
The bright, cheerful colors and aquatic theme were chosen to appeal to the diverse age and gender of patients and their families. The space includes a comfortable waiting area with a separate play area for young children, private registration areas and treatment areas for a wide-variety of emergency situations.

Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Center
This clinic specializes in the treatment of young children who have trouble from birth to early childhood in learning to eat. The center includes a waiting area, treatment rooms that can be observed by the staff and parents by two-way mirrors, play areas and administrative offices. Special attention was given to the choice of materials and surfaces which had to be antimicrobial and easily maintained.
