Pediatric Emergency Room
The bright, cheerful colors and aquatic theme were chosen to appeal to the diverse age and gender of patients and their families. The space includes a comfortable waiting area with a separate play area for young children, private registration areas and treatment areas for a wide-variety of emergency situations.

Registration Area 1
The registration area is immediately visible as visitors enter the emergency room. Siblings who may need to accompany other family members can be amused in a separate children's play area equipped with games. Under the watchful eyes of parents and staff through the portholes, they are shielded from the emergency cases in the department. Nancy designed the two-toned blue patterned floor accents to resemble waves. Note the round features in the play room wall, designed to look like water bubbles.
